Please inform us in advance whether you wish to hire bikes here or will be bringing your own. Many airlines carry “bikes in bags” at small surcharges. If you have never taken your bike abroad then you should give it a go.. you can pick up a bike bag on ebay (brand new) for about £25 and obviously you can use that many times. The typical cost of putting a bike bag on a plane is around £30. We have been known to break down a bike rack that fits on a car into a couple of bags on the odd occasion – then reassemble the bikes and the car rack to fit onto the hire car!
It’s not just for Mountain Bikers..
Although, that is our first passion there are other activities for those who don’t want to bike. There are a whole host of activities to do besides mountain biking; climbing, horseriding and hiding from the rat race to name only a few.
Climbing
Not far from the villa is the climbing Mecca of El Chorro. About 20-30 minutes to Álora and then another 20 minutes takes you to this splendid Natural Park. Particularly popular in the cooler months, the climbing fraternity has adopted El Chorro as the place to climb – from beginners to experienced climbers, there is something for all. Hardly any shops in El Chorro … but there is a climbing one! Sells maps and climbing gear. A little closer is the still mostly undiscovered area of Abdalajis which offers great climbing as well. And if that isn’t enough, about an hour away is El Torcal with its famous rock formations ….
Riding
Riding available in the local area for beginners and experienced riders. We have a delightful stables in the area that we recommend. Please ask for further details of Summer Breeze Stables if you are interested. We have special rates with Louisa – rides cost 30 euros for 2 hours (minimum) up to 60 euros for 4 hours which includes a picnic lunch out and about.
Do nothing!
Sometimes people want to go on holiday to get away from doing anything. We have had couples hire the villa to avoid seeing another single person for a week. Here are some testimonials from previous guests to give a sense of what they enjoyed about their holiday.. [Read Testimonials]
